Physical Therapy TechniquesI may work with vou on a variety of strengthening, flexibility and mobility techniques, pre- surgery, post-surgery or as an alternative to surgery. That may include:
In addition to applying manual muscle therapy, I may use an instrument -assisted technique to detect scar tissue and restrictions in affected areas of the body.
Ergonomically designed instrumentation is used to detect and treat specific areas using the appropriate amount of pressure to break up the scar tissue.
Modalities are physical agents I may use to increase blood flow, improve circulation, facilitate recovery and promote healing.
Michael Clarke has been in the fitness industry for 35 years. After serving 10 years in the Air Force he landed in California. He started his career working at a health club as a trainer certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He managed the facility that had a membership of 3500 members. His specialty is cardiovascular endurance. He has run 16 marathons including Boston twice. Having a large clientele and wanting to be more independent he opened his own studio in 2001. He had a successful gym for 12 years working with all generations. Lucky enough to be able to work with some kids destined for scholarships due to athletic abilities and movie stars he felt like there was more to do with his life. He volunteered his time with Aids Project Los Angeles coaching runners for marathons. He ended up with getting 2000 runners to the finish line over a 4 year period. Finally getting tired of the California life he sold his business and came back home to Sarasota where he went to high school to be around his friends and family. Now working at Longboat Key Fitness for 4 years he now specializes in balance, core, strength and flexibility.
